Bentonite clay will draw impurities to the surface. (Read more about the benefits of bentonite clay here.) Give this anti-itch remedy a try! It’s great for allergies, bug bites, and more.

Anti-Itch Clay

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp bentonite clay
  • 1 tbsp witch hazel (may need more)
  • 30 drops peppermint oil

  1. Mix salt, baking soda, and bentonite clay in a small bowl.

  2. Stir in witch hazel until the mixture becomes creamy. You may need to add more to reach the desired consistency.

  3. Stir in essential oils.

  4. Store in airtight container.

Recipe Notes

You can use water instead of witch hazel, but the shelf life of the finished product will be shorter.

Add more peppermint oil for a stronger cooling effect. Storing in the refrigerator will also add to the cooling effect.

Never use metal with bentonite clay; it will change the healing properties.

Spread the mixture on affected areas. Once it begins to dry, wash off with cool water.
